Time to dust off the running shoes and come train for the Cellcom 5K with the Lannoye Runner's Club!

Hello all! We hope that you will find our Lannoye Runner's Club blog to be an informational tool for you. You will find our training calendar, run information, pictures, and more all in one place! If you'd like to receive email notifications when we post a new blog entry, please add your email to the "Follow by email" area on the right hand sidebar.

Important Information about the
Lannoye Runner's Club
  • Training is open to students in grades 3, 4, and 5. Permission slips must be returned before students will be allowed to train with the group.
  • Training runs will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school at 3:50. PLEASE be sure to send a note to your child's teacher stating they are staying for running club.
  • We encourage parents and family members to train with us. The more adults we have running with the kids...the better, so if you are able, come and join us even if it's just once in awhile! We're always looking for a few adults to help out at the back of the group with our younger kiddos and slower paced runners.
  • Pick up times vary from week to week depending on our mileage. Please check the training calendar for pick up times and be punctual in picking your child up. For safety reasons, parents are asked to come into school to pick their child up.
  • Respectful, responsible and safe behavior is expected during training. Unsafe or disrespectful behavior will result in a phone call home. Repeat occurrences will result in students needing to train on their own at home.
  • Dress appropriately for the weather as we do run outside (sweatpants and jackets will likely be needed these first couple of weeks)
  • We run rain or shine
  • Students are required to stay for post-run stretching

Our group will be training for the Cellcom 5K which is 3.1 miles. If your child isn’t interested in doing the actual race, they are still more than welcome to come and train with us on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For those interested in running the Bellin 10K (6.2 miles), a training schedule will be provided with mileage recommendations so you can continue to train on your own.
